The best way to keep herbs from going brown is to not get them saturated in the soap base. Keep them dry by sprinkling on top – you’ve probably seen CP soap bars using this technique. Sounds like we need to do some more in-depth projects about this though!

I also love the hyperboard and I have registered but haven’t been able to get on, that was 3 days ago.

I’ve ground up the lavender before adding to the soap and like it a lot better than leaving them whole. I used a blender that grounds wheat into flour, not a regular blender.
I want to know how we can get a soap queen tv apron!

I have a question, is there anything that can be done for the herbs to have a longer life in the soap? and will the same happen in CP soap?

It’s completely safe to use food coloring in soap. Pretty much anything that you can eat is safe to use. The main issue with food colors is that they bleed like the Labcolors do – so not great for multi-color soaps.

The reason the colors don’t transfer onto your skin like eye shadow is that you put alot less in soap than if you were applying it directly to your skin as a cosmetic. If you put a whole bunch of color in your soap the lather will turn colors and you can even color your hands.
It takes a whole bunch to do this though!
