SOAP MAKING QUESTION…?
When making the soap with the oils mixed with the lye & water… (i think its called ‘cold’ something)
one of the oils i want to use is shea butter.. i was at walmart and Gold Bond makes a Shea Butter hand lotion… is that the same.. i plan to use REAL jojoba oil with it as well.. can i use the ‘already processed’ shea butter in my recipe?
im new at this
thanks!
CP (Cold processing) is the name of what you are looking for.
You cannot use a finished product (lotion) from a store. You need to use raw products like jojoba, palm, coconut, and your shea butter. It is ok if your shea butter has been processed. You can have your shea a couple of ways, raw where it has not been cleaned or cleaned.
I hope that helps. If you would like, I am a soaper and I sell fragrance oils that are to die for that work great in cold process soaping and candle making. Here is my site www.candlesoftheearth.com
All fo’s have descriptions that tell you which fo’s work great so there is no guess work for you to figure out if it works in soap or not. We’ve done the work for you!
